The Taurus 3 Sun was in an exact trine transit with Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn at 5:37p PDT today, 04 May 2014, bringing your knowledge and the gathering of information about building a solid future for yourself to the fore. You may find yourself assessing what you already know about approaching this process and asking yourself what else you need to learn. However, this transit is actually an opportunity for you to learn what you really need through a very practical experience of facing and clearing your past in order to create your future.
Taurus and Capricorn are both earth signs. Capricorn is cardinal, initiating movement toward the goals, while Taurus stabilizes the resources and assesses the value of everything that supports the manifestation of the goals. This Sun-Pluto trine is a time for taking tangible, physical, and/or material steps to build a solid foundation for the eventual manifestation of those ideas. This is “practicing what you preach”, “putting your money where your mouth is”, “where the rubber meets the road”, etc.
Pluto in Capricorn is all about clearing away the past if not outright destroying it. If it is effective in its job (which it is), there won’t be anything familiar about what is built in place of the old. With Pluto in retrograde motion, you are provided with introspection. You get to look within yourself to see which attachments you still have to the structures, standards, and lessons of days past. What old beliefs and lessons do you now get to clear out? What knowledge do you have that is outdated, false, or otherwise erroneous that has kept you from manifesting or stabilizing your desired lifestyle? What are the structures and/or pedestals that you’ve built over the years that now need to be collapsed in order for you to truly move forward in your life?
This is the time to face them and deal with the demons and obstacles of your own making. The Sun brings them to Light and helps you see them for the self-imposed barriers they are, and Pluto Retrograde helps you clear them from your path once and for all. These two –the Sun and Pluto – work very well together in assisting you in making practical, tangible steps toward your goals by helping you purge whatever doesn’t serve you in moving forward…but you’ve got to be willing to let go of that obstructive past.
What do you need to let go of in order to move forward? Pay attention to what is being revealed to you. Whatever you hold onto stubbornly, ask yourself if you really need it, or if you’re holding onto it out of familiarity or comfort.
“It” doesn’t have to be a physical object or resource – it could be an emotion or an opinion or a way of thinking. But if there is an object or physical behavior that you can use to symbolize the thought or feeling, then find it and use it to help you in the letting go process. Stop the old behavior by replacing it with a new, healthier one. If it’s an object or symbolized by an object, get rid of or destroy it and replace it with something new and completely different…or with nothing at all.
This Sun-Pluto Retrograde trine is a perfect time to take advantage of the fact that much that is old and outdated in your life is collapsing or transforming. As your old structures disintegrate, they leave clear and open sites for new construction. Yet as tempting as it may be to take your fancy ideas and build them up quickly, it is more important to take the time to make sure you have thoroughly purged your heart and mind of your outdated and negative energies so you have clear and open space to bring in everything you need to build your new and True life properly. Some serious foundation building is in order, and you want to take the time to do it right. Make sure your new foundation is safe and solid for whatever you want to build on top of it. That stabilization comes from making sure you aren’t recreating your past and you’re instead creating a truly new beginning for a bright new future.
