2016 Pisces New Moon /Total Solar Eclipse – A Great Awakening

sunburst - 2016 Pisces New MoonThe 2016 Pisces New Moon isn’t any New Moon – this event marks the genuine beginning of a healing process and the awakening of compassionate consciousness in a world which has been structured to allow anything but such an awakening. It’s no accident or coincidence that this 2016 Pisces New Moon at maximum phase at 5:54p PST also brings the only Total Solar Eclipse of 2016 reaching its maximum totality at 5:59p PST today, 8th March 2016.

During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, blocking the Sun’s light from our view. In a Total Solar Eclipse, the Moon’s shadow completely covers the Sun’s light except for a glow which persists around the edges. If we consider how this is showing up in the events of the world right now here in March 2016, there are many trying to obscure the Light of Truth with their over-the-top emotional and spiritual responses to the energetic shifts and changes which are occurring within and around us all. That Light, however, is determined to make itself known despite efforts to keep it from revealing Truth to All. Its subtle glow around the edges reminds us that there’s something more to life than the darkness that is temporarily in front of us…if we can hold on for a little while longer.

2016 Mars in Sagittarius – Adventurous Actions for Expansion

Galaxy Background

Mars entered the sign of Sagittarius on Saturday, 5th March 2016 at 6:29a PST, encouraging big, expansive actions – actions with the intention of exploring and experiencing life and Truth.

This 2016 version of Mars in Sagittarius also encourages acting on and in alignment with Truth. This includes acting upon one’s inner Truth, or rather, what you know to be true within your heart and soul, beyond your first-hand experience.

Of course, there’s no better way for you to know (or learn) the truth of a matter than to find out for yourself. Theory is a weak substitute for the real experience, and having the wisdom of experience to draw from in a particular matter gives you credibility like no other.  When it comes to sharing your knowledge with others, having been there and done that for yourself first gives you the ability to teach others in ways others who haven’t been there cannot.

Mars in Sagittarius also lends itself to impulsive adventures. These adventures give you opportunities to go into uncharted territories of life experience, growing and expanding your understanding of the human experience of life in this world. Having the freedom to be spontaneously self-expressed in exploration is valuable beyond measure.

Yet there are times you may find that impulsiveness provides you with more of an education than you might have been ready for. Continue reading

2016 Mercury in Pisces – In Service to Oneness

Black Hole in Space Violet Background

Mercury entered the sign of Pisces on Saturday, 5th March at 2:39a PST. When it did, it began a period of awakening to All-That-Is. The consciousness of the interconnection of everyone and everything is growing, and each and all of us are becoming aware of how everything comes together – how it all intersects and affects all else.

As we awaken, we also become more sensitive to energies and emotions happening around us – we become more empathic. This emotional-spiritual sensitivity can make us quick to play victim to the energies and emotions of others, or to feel defeated by others’ responses to or ignorance of our efforts. However, it can also make us quick to feel compassion and unconditional caring for others.

This empathy also encourages a service mindset. If you are coming from a place of compassion and caring, you may notice how you feel you might be serving a Higher calling – something far bigger and far beyond yourself and what you know as the world around you. This isn’t just service on a practical level – it is emotional and spiritual healing service. This is the type of compassion and kindness which can bring healing to long-held emotional wounds. 2016 Juno Retrograde in Scorpio – Passionate Commitments

Fire and Water Show

Astronomically speaking, Juno is a class-T asteroid which travels in the belt between the inner and outer planets of our Milky Way solar system.

Astrologically speaking, Juno is the body which represents commitment. In the sign of Scorpio, Juno’s commitment is unmistakable – there is no gray area. It takes a clear, decisive position one way or another. Under the influence of Juno is in Scorpio, you may be empowered to make passionate, decisive commitments in one or more areas of your life.

So when Juno in Scorpio began retrograde motion at 2:39a PST on 2nd March 2016, its commitment to passion shifted. Rather than directly empowering you to decide and commit to your own passions, it’s now taking an indirect approach, causing you to reflect upon your commitments to see just how passionate you are (or aren’t) about them.

Juno Retrograde in Scorpio creates this reflective mood by making you more aware of the commitments of others around you. As you experience the emotional and/or spiritual impact of others’ commitments upon your own life journey, you may find yourself considering your own positions on matters.

  • What are you choosing to be committed to in your life?
  • How passionate are you about your chosen commitments?
  • Do your commitments have powerful or transformative influence on the lives of others?
  • Are you making your own commitment choices, or are you allowing others to make your choices for you?

The key under this influence will be remembering that you – and only you – get to choose what you are committed to in your life. Even that which you may believe is “just the way it is” is only a reflection of your own personal beliefs and values, not necessarily fact. You believe it is required only because you choose it to be so. It doesn’t have to be.

In order to make a decisive commitment, Juno in Scorpio must be just as committed to getting to the bottom of things. It must thoroughly investigate its options, and does so by delving deep into the emotional and spiritual depths to uncover or expose everything that may be hiding in the darkness. Juno in Scorpio does this because it needs to know in order to trust. Don’t expect its endorsement if you don’t let it find out anything about you…and don’t expect it to reveal its motives for its commitments until it can trust you.

Yet we must remember – Juno in Scorpio is in retrograde motion. This means that others will be delving just as much as you, doing the investigative work to get to the bottom of your motives. They’ll want to know who the people are who influence you, empower you, and have earned your trust…and they’re going to want to know why you trust them. This will indirectly cause you to ask yourself why you’re passionately committed to what and whom you choose to be committed to.

That said…

  • What are you learning about yourself and your beliefs as result of others’ passionate inquiries and commitments?
  • Are you choosing to be more clear and decisive about where you stand and what you stand for as result of recognizing others’ influence upon you?
  • Are you moved to take a more clear and/or decisive position about certain matters in your life in order to claim (or reclaim) your personal power?

During this 2016 Pisces Sun period, there aren’t many major one-on-one transits involving Juno.

  • Juno Retrograde in Scorpio trine Ceres in Pisces, most exact at 12:33a PST on 7th March (15.10°) – Witnessing and/or experiencing the passionate commitments and beliefs of others helps you get in touch with your own personal value system. Do your values lead you to believe in your victimization by others or your interconnection with others?

However, Juno Retrograde in Scorpio is involved in a large sequence configuration which is most exact on 6th March – each entity’s energy leads to the next via a continuous chain of semi-sextile aspects. Scorpio Juno Retrograde (passionate commitments) leads to Sagittarius Saturn (focused and disciplined expansion of experiential truth ) leads to Capricorn Pluto (empowerment or collapse of societal structures and institutions) leading to Aquarius Moon (an emotion-driven shift in social consciousness ) leading to Pisces 3 Sun (growing awareness of the interconnection of All-That-Is/Oneness ) driving Aries Uranus (assertive initiative actions in matters of social consciousness, independence, and autonomy) (15-18° under a 3° orb). Look for this flow of energy to shift the intention and direction of social and societal matters – turning them from anger and outrage to a focus on compassion and love…or at least a question about which path we collectively want to be on. Do we want to be passionately angry victims who inflict our insecurities and fears on others, or do we want to be compassionately loving healers of humanity and All-That-Is?

There is an expanding awareness that we’re all in this together so we might as well love each other along the way. Oneness (or the gradual awakening to it) may very well rule the day as the remainder of the 2016 Pisces Sun period plays out. It’s time to raise the vibration of humanity, and we get to do that by recognizing that even though hate and anger may seem easier than love and compassion in the short term, in the long run, Love conquers All.

So…what are you passionately committed to?

Juno will be retrograde in Scorpio until 22nd June 2016.

2016 Virgo Full Moon – Serve One, Serve All

full moon - sky-texture-13_G1CTZUF_ GraphicstockWe’re experiencing a Full Moon in Virgo today, Monday, 22nd February 2016 – one which reaches its maximum phase at 10:20a PST (3.34°), when the Virgo Moon most fully reflects the light of the Pisces Sun.

The signs of Virgo and Pisces are opposite each other on what I call “the axis of service”.

Virgo is the energy behind our practical and purpose-driven service efforts. It is usually focused on efficiency and effectiveness, making things work or making things work better than they already do. It is also health and healing focused, and even though there is a physical inclination to this due to Virgo being an earth element sign, the health and healing principles can be applied to all levels of your life experience – mental/intellectual, emotional, spiritual, financial/professional, etc. Because it deals with practical functionality, Virgo is associated with everyday life. Your daily routine and/or everyday activities – the day-to-day operations of your life – are strongly influenced by Virgo’s energy. Virgo’s placement in your chart will reveal which areas of your life tend to be present in your daily activities.

Pisces is the energy behind our emotional, spiritual service efforts. Focused on empathy and intuition, Pisces is focused on our interconnection with All-That-Is – it brings awareness of everyone and everything being connected. Pisces tends to be of service in philanthropic and/or spiritual ways – often looking at things from a perspective of compassion, soul healing, unconditional love, and “big picture” Oneness consciousness. Because it is a water element sign usually dealing with the emotional-spiritual intangibles of everyday life, Pisces is also associated with your dreams, ideals, fantasies, and your visionary and artistic talents and abilities. It is often what you aspiring to and/or what you’re using to escape from day-to-day activities of your life.

The 2016 Virgo Full Moon occurs on a 6 Universal day, numerologically speaking. Six energy is also service-driven energy, nurturing, healing, and protecting in both emotional and practical ways strongly reminiscent of a maternal presence. The fact that this Pisces Sun-Virgo Moon opposition is happening in tandem with this 6 numerological energy indicates that this powerfully service-driven Full Moon is likely to illuminate some or all of the practical and emotional motives behind our individual and collective acts of service.

As the energies of Virgo, Pisces and 6 combine, we may learn during this 2016 Virgo Full Moon that service is not about how we serve others – it’s about how and why we serve ourselves, both individually and collectively. Continue reading

2016 Venus in Aquarius – Unlikely Pairings for Unexpected Progress

Different colors sliced apple isolated on white

At 8:17p PST on Tuesday, 16th February 2016, Venus entered the sign of Aquarius. As result, we may see some partnerships forming or blossoming which buck convention in some way over the next 4 weeks.

Whether unconventional in their composition (two parties with opposing or diverging views coming together for a common cause) or unconventional in their collaborative effort (two or more parties coming together to promote or initiate a socially or culturally divergent act), there is something in the air which is bringing people together in a social climate which seems to favor the individual.

A large part of this may have to do with the fact that Uranus – the ruling planet of Aquarius – is currently in Aries. Aries is the “me, me, me” sign – the sign of individuality and initiative leadership. It’s encouraging each of us to be leaders for ourselves in our individual lives. Yet not everyone is eager to embrace their self-leadership or to take responsibility for their personal choices and actions. This is why some people stand out as leaders more than others – this is why more people follow than lead.

To that point, that’s what makes Venus in Aquarius a curious entry into the astrological scene at this time. Individuals are now looking for partners to assist them in furthering their initiatives. It seems that more people who would normally “go it alone” are realizing that they can’t do it alone – they need collaborators. They need a partner or a team. In fact, the more independent that are or have been, the more they may need a partner, collaborator, or team at this time in order to move forward.

But how do you form a team when you’ve got so many people doing their own things?

You allow the people who come into your life to contribute to your journey as little or as much as they can. Recognize that your “team” may not be a traditionally-organized team or group. Instead, it may be everyone around you. Everyone you interact with in your day-to-day activity can contribute to your circumstances in some way. If you can recognize all of humanity as your team – even those who seem to disagree with you – you may find that you gain more information, illumination, and insight to move forward on your path than you ever imagined possible.

Don’t disregard others’ insights and opinions just because they may not be coming from the sources you believe it should come from. In fact, this 2016 Venus in Aquarius is almost a plea to you to seek partnership and counsel from people you wouldn’t normally seek it from. In order to change your status quo, you can’t keep going to the same people and groups you always go to. It’s a perfect time to branch out and find truly new connections in order to make positive progress forward on your path.

Who knows – you may even find a newer or Truer expression of yourself in the process.

The 2016 Venus in Aquarius doesn’t make any transits under the 2016 Aquarius Sun. In fact, it’s rather quiet until the last day of February:

  • Aquarius Venus square Juno in Scorpio, most exact on 29th February – Opportunities to connect with new partners may have you realizing that the path you’ve been on may not be the path that aligns with your truth…or that you’re not getting the support you truly need in order to continue walking the path you’re committed to walking.
  • Aquarius Venus sextile Saturn in Sagittarius, also most exact on 29th February – New partners or community connections may help you see your circumstances differently. Rather than seeing yourself as stuck, you may recognize that you’re being redirected instead. Is it time to adjust or change your goals or ambitions?

Your best information will come from the most unlikely sources under this 2016 Venus in Aquarius. Keep an open mind and open ears – you never know where what you need might come from or who it might come through.

Thanks for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…

2016 Mercury in Aquarius – Perceiving, Believing, and Receiving

connected-world_zyJbbOq_Mercury entered the sign of Aquarius at 2:43p PST on Saturday, 13th February 2016.

When it did, it shifted our conversations away from ambitions, goals, and shifted them toward what both connects to others and distinguishes from others us in community and humanity. Our thoughts, ideas, and communications are taking on a larger perspective as we begin to recognize how our individual thoughts and words have a much larger reach than we may have believed.

Under the influence of the 2016 Mercury in Aquarius, you will likely begin to see how your individual beliefs and ideas may be affecting others around you, for better and worse. You may finally be able to see and acknowledge that the way you think and speak really does affect the world…or at least your perspective of it.

You are now being given an opportunity to look at what you truly believe about your fellow human beings – how you (and others) interact with them, how you think and speak of them, and how you think and speak to them. Mercury in Aquarius puts you in a space to consider how you perceive and believe the world to be for yourself and for others, and to see how the world receives and perceives your communications in both individual and collaborative terms. 2016 Aquarius New Moon – A New “You” on Monday?

Sunset on Water 2On Monday, 8th February 2016 at 6:39a PST, the Moon is at its newest phase in the sign of Aquarius. Generally, new moons are a wonderful time to set intentions and initiate new ways of thinking and being in one or more areas of your life.

This 2016 Aquarius New Moon occurs on a 1 universal day, numerologically speaking, which also represents a day of new beginnings and fresh starts. Therefore, today is a day to initiate whatever is now and next for you in the plan of your life.

An Aquarius New Moon on a 1 universal day is like a white unicorn with wings – a rarity which inspires you to embrace and step fully into a brave new (and far more authentic) expression of yourself in and for the world. Aquarius energy calls upon each and every one of us to recognize what we have to uniquely contribute to the whole of humanity – the one-of-a-kind qualities of each and every one of us as individuals contributing to something bigger than ourselves. This New Moon calls upon us to take action to make these qualities known to the world.

So, what can you do? What can you bring to your teams, groups, communities, societies, or humanity-at-large which serves a greater whole in unconventional or innovative ways? What can you bring that no one else can bring but you – something that’s recently emerged into your consciousness, something that you’ve known yet chose to hide before now, or something you haven’t shared before? Ceres in Pisces – Comforting Compassion for All

digital compisition of the earth

Ceres entered the sign of Pisces at 10:40a PST on 28th January 2016. After Ceres in Aquarius may have had you reviewing and possibly reconsidering your personal morals and values through new or different social perspectives, you may now be gaining clarity about how your personal values may or may not align with your dreams, ideals, and aspirations…or with your spiritual or transcendental beliefs.

Ultimately, Ceres in Pisces represents universally comfortable values. Its intention is to create a perception of the world/Universe in which shared values and ideals transcend all differences that are prominent now – a world in which compassion, kindness, and genuine service reign supreme. What is could help us all heal and triumph over pain and suffering is to have compassion and a service-minded attitude toward one another. Kindness creates unity.

Therefore, as Ceres enters Pisces, you may find yourself more aware of your connections with everyone and everything around you. You might even be excited about making selfless or philanthropic contributions of service and/or resource in order to contribute to what you most value within All-That-Is. Continue reading

2016 Mercury Direct in Capricorn – Back On Track

Back On Track - railroad tracks

Mercury in Capricorn ended its retrograde and returned to direct motion at 1:50p on 25th January 2015. When it did, it stopped giving us feedback and retrospective energy. Now that it’s sufficiently reminded us about where we’ve been and how we got to where we are now, it now asks us to get our eyes on the prize and get our minds back on track with achieving our goals and ambitions.

However, that is easier said than done for many of us. The first Mercury Retrograde of 2016 seemed to hit people pretty hard in the sense that it practically forced people reflect upon their pasts as they planned for their futures. It did that for me as well as for many of my friends and associates – there were a lot of people and experiences from the past coming up for remembrance and ‘review’. Despite the challenges this may have brought up for some of us, this re-visitation was happening for good reason. Continue reading
