Peoples and Planets and Pyramids, Oh My! – The 2012 Giza Alignment – Part One

As may of you may be aware, there was a thing going around on the internet back in August about a 3-planet alignment over the Great Pyramids of Giza on December 3rd, 2012.

The picture spread around at the time was obviously a manufactured picture since the event had not occurred.  There was a great possibility that the reality would not look anything like that, and well…it didn’t.

In reality, the planets were in more of a vertical alignment, and the closest any of us could get to seeing the image as it was promoted would be to view the pyramids from the south toward the north.  However, even then, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn – the planets involved in the alignment – would appear to be more in a vertical line than horizontal.

Here is the “manufactured visual” (created by Charles Marcello) and the actual visual (taken this morning in Spain by Roma Massot) for you to see the difference.  Keep in mind, there is yet to be a picture released of the actual vertical planetary configuration over the Giza Pyramids themselves (probably due to fog or overcast weather in the region):

The fabricated "promo" version...
The actual reality (shown over Spain on 03 Dec 2012)...

Now, astrology and astronomy always coordinate to a large degree as the placement of the planets is crucial to both sciences.  However, this is how astronomy and astrology may actually intertwine with ancient lore in this case.

Three ancient civilizations made the construction of and use of pyramids central to their daily lives – the Aztecs (North America/northern and central Mexico), the Egyptians (northeastern Africa), and the Mayans (North America/southern Mexico and Central America).  All three, as most ancient and indigenous civilizations, were very in tune with astronomy as the stars and planets let them know what time of year it was, and therefore, when to plant and harvest crops, when to hunt, etc.  They also noticed what types of events would happen when certain things showed up in the sky, thus forming the origins of astrology.

Now with the Aztecs, Egyptians, and Mayans, they all were extraordinary mathematicians as well, which is why they were able to conceive and build their respective pyramids.  However, out of the three civilizations, the Egyptians were the most successful in their construction of “perfect” pyramids.

All of the pyramids were constructed to have their energy and power focused at the top or the point, closer to the Gods.  However, unlike the Aztecs and Mayans who had tiers and/or steps and flat tops (with temples or open surfaces at the tops in order for various rituals to be performed), the Egyptian pyramids had “smooth sides” and their pyramids supposedly had a pristine white glow due to the limestone used to build them.

Nevertheless, the idea here is that pyramids were created by three very different civilizations in very different parts of the world with one very similar intent – transcending the earthly human experience for a spiritual and/or energetic one.  And out of the three, the Egyptians are arguably considered the most successful in achieving their goal (per construction), with others citing the Mayans (per the civilization’s mysterious “disappearance” and enduring calendar).

This morning’s Giza Alignment came as the precursor to yet another December 21st, 2012  prophecy – the rebirth of the Egyptian god, Osiris.  Though not as well-known as the end of the Mayan calendar, this prophecy also foreshadows a major transformative shift in the consciousness of humanity on what seems to be a very fateful day.

At this point you may be saying, “This is all nice to know, but what does any of this have to do with me?”

The Numbers of the New Year

I’ve had a few requests to look at the New Year from a numerological point of view. So…

To start, 2012 is a Universal 5 year.

5 energy is an energy of variety and change. It calls upon us to be adaptable and flexible – to go with the flow, to allow changes to occur in our lives. It also means that anything that didn’t establish a solid and stable foundation in the previous 4 year is about to get renovated.

Often, people are afraid of change. As much as we may say we are open-minded or that we are open to changes, humans are more creatures of habit than we are often willing to admit. We’re fine when we are the ones making the changes…but not so fine when we are the ones being subject to changes around us. In this 5 universal year, each and all of us need to figure out how to do both well.

There will be many opportunities for us to look at aspects of our lives that have been in place for a long time. And in looking at them, we may find ourselves being challenged to choose whether those aspects stay as they are or change. Sometimes, those changes are minor. Other times, those changes may be a major: starting or ending a relationship, changing the status of a relationship, ending our participation in an long-time activity, or starting our participation in a new one. In whatever form and magnitude, there will be many changes consciously made by us this year.

Yet it would be good for us to be reminded that others are impacted by the changes we make…and in turn, we are impacted by the changes others make. Therefore, during this 5 year, it would be to our advantage to take note of the changes others are making in their lives, and to note how their changes affect us. Keep in mind – they are making the changes they perceive and believe to be best FOR THEM! Just as you are making changes that you believe or perceive are best for you, they are doing the same for themselves.

This is where “going with the flow” is critical. “The flow” isn’t about waiting for life to tell you where to go – it’s about allow whatever comes up to come up without fighting or resisting it, then adjusting our actions and behaviors to manage whatever comes up in ways that support our own choices and changes. We don’t have to give up or give in to what life brings. All change asks of us is that we allow it to evolve us and help each of us grow into our Highest and most unique expressions in this world.

January 2012 is a 6 universal month (1 + the 5 universal year or 1+2+0+1+2=6). In this month, nurturing or attending to the practical and everyday details of our lives now may prove valuable to us as the year continues. This is the month to get all the lifestyle maintenance done as next month (February 2012 – a 7 universal month – 2+2+0+1+2 = 7), we may find ourselves going within and doing a great deal of soul-searching. Self-examination mode  is rarely the best state of mind or being for attending to the day-to-day stuff of life. If you’ve procrastinating anything, you may just want to get it done now. You may be glad you did later on.

There’s always more about how the numerological energies combine with the astrological energies in the Life By Soul monthly e-zine. Each month, there is an article called “Energy Dynamics” that blends the two together for a more complete picture of what is going on and what you may expect for the month. You can see the Capricorn e-zine here:http://t.co/hhGF37g0 . The Aquarius e-zine will be out over this coming weekend. P.S. – One change you may notice – the name of this blog has changed!

It is now called “Signs and Numbers”.  Since I haven’t been posting regularly or “weekly”, it seemed appropriate. I hope to bring much to you in both regards over the coming months and years. 🙂 Thank you again for following and reading the blog.

It’s Hip to Be Square (Aspected)!

Depending on how you choose to see it, 2011 is ending or 2012 is beginning with two square aspects – Sagittarius Mercury square Virgo Mars at 10:06p PST tonight, December 31st , and Capricorn Sun square Aries Moon at 10:14p PST tonight as well.

With the Mercury-Mars square, it is likely that we will clearly recognize the areas of our lives in which our thoughts and communications are probably not what we are really doing or acting upon.

Mercury in Sagittarius has us eager to learn and communicate the truth in matters, while Mars in Virgo has us eager to take actions that are practical, productive and serve our everyday life routines.

This aspect has us noticing where our daily routines and actions are not in alignment with our inner truth.  In fact, we may find ourselves challenged by the fact that we aren’t being true to ourselves in one or more areas of our lives.  With the focus on the New Year and fresh starts, this conflict of energies could be the catalyst for some major changes both collectively and individually in 2012.

With the Sun-Moon square, the Capricorn Sun is shining our goals and ambitions, while the Aries Moon brings attention to our feelings about our individual selves and the actions we are taking in our own best interests.

Moon in Aries gives us a strong desire to act upon the emotions that we feel right now, and our emotions are likely to be in conflict with the goals and ambitions we have for ourselves that are being brought to our attention now through the Capricorn Sun.

As result, many of us may want to define ourselves through our emotions right now and share or take action to express how we feel about ourselves and our lives.  Yet for those of us who also define ourselves by our tangible, professional (career) and/or public accomplishments and achievements, this could be a very trying time as how we feel about ourselves may not be in alignment with what we are accomplishing or what we are set out to accomplish in our lives.

All of that being said, the beginning of the New Year (or the end of the old one) is the perfect time to be faced with these questions and the challenge of answering them!

  • What are you saying to yourself and others that is not in alignment with what you are doing?
  • What are you not being honest with yourself about – where are your actions betraying your commitments and beliefs?
  • What about your everyday life is what you do but doesn’t ring true for you to be doing?
  • In which areas of your life do you notice that you are not being who you say you are being?
  • How do you feel about the goals and ambitions you are setting for the New Year? Are they in your best interests, or are you choosing them in order to look good for others?
  • Which actions are you taking “in your own best interests” that are not supporting your goals or ambitions and may even be hindering them?
  • What do you feel like doing right now…and are you doing it for yourself or for recognition and status publically or professionally?
  • What do you feel like doing right now…and is it going to help or hurt you in the pursuit and fulfillment of your goals?

I invite you to take on these questions and the answers to them. Get to the real motivation for your New Year resolutions.  May your willingness to ask yourself these questions and to face the answers to these them bring all of you a productive and fulfilling 2012!

Thank you for following! Until next time…

The Power of Choice and “The Great Awakening” of 2012

There’s been a lot of speculation about what the year of 2012 will bring. With it being the end of the Mayan calendar, there are people predicting all sorts of doomsday devastation and destruction, and perpetuating all sorts of fear-based thinking in doing so.

It doesn’t have to be chaos and destruction. And even if it is, it doesn’t have to be at the hand of humanity.

What tends to be missed in this equation is the power of choice that we as humans have over what occurs in this time of awakening.

2012 will be a 5 Universal Year numerologically speaking. 5 is an energy of variety and change. It is adaptable and freedom-loving. It doesn’t like routine and avoids the status-quo of pretty much anything. It’s also very strong mental-intellectual energy, and will often act upon its thoughts more than any other numeric energy.

It is my belief that 2012 will bring humanity’s ‘Great Awakening’ – an opportunity for each and all of us to step fully into our unique individual expressions and to express our unique roles in the greater whole in doing so, step into True power rooted in Light and Love. We have an opportunity to see how we have the power to choose the course of our individual lives, and in doing so, how each of us together can choose the course of humanity and the world.

The shift will be primarily in our minds. It is a shift in our thinking, our perceiving, in our consciousness. I have discussed in past blog posts how our thoughts and beliefs influence our actions and behaviors. This is why…

Humanity has choice in the matter of how much of this energy manifests! We DO have say in the matter of this transition!

Even if there are natural occurrences such as floods or earthquakes or massive storms or pole shifts, we will still have say in how we choose to respond to those scenarios. Whether we choose to respond with collaboration and collective compassion, or we choose to steal and hurt each other to take advantage of a challenging situation, WE have say in how it goes.

WE have say in whether or not we choose to act out of our religious beliefs that one group of people must be eliminated or saved.

WE have say in whether or not we choose to act out of our political beliefs that one group of people must be overthrown or  must be brought into power.

WE have say in whether or not we go to war with other countries to fight over territories and natural resources.

WE have say in whether or not we inflict pain or blame or love and forgiveness onto others to express what we ultimately feel inside about ourselves.

It’s easy for many of us to say that it’s other people who think and do this kind of thing. Yet it really is something we each and all get to take ownership for. Even if we may not be doing it directly, we are allowing it by not choosing to stand in our Light and present another option to the world, by not choosing to stand up for something different. By choosing to play victim to the darkness of others, we choose to allow that darkness to have power. By choosing to remain in our darkness and denial, we are not contributing our unique expressions of Light into the world.

In owning and expressing our Light, WE allow ourselves to have say in what humanity and the world is becoming!!!

In owning and expressing your Light, YOU allow yourself to have say in what humanity and the world is becoming!!!

The planetary bodies that are in retrograde right now are mostly “outer planet” influences. The outer planetary bodies have a slower rotation around the Sun, so they tend to be considered as generational, cultural, and global influences with zodiac cycles ranging from 84 to 248 years. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are the three most outwardly placed planetary influences, and they are all retrograde right now along with Chiron and Mercury. But it’s those first three – the big three – that hold a great deal of weight right now.

  • Uranus takes 84 years to complete its journey through the zodiac. Currently, Uranus is in Aries until 2019, encouraging us to look at our individual selves. Who are we each being – who are YOU being – for the whole of humanity? How are your actions affecting others? Do you realize the power you have in who you choose to be and the actions you choose to take?
  • Pluto takes 248 years to move through the full zodiac. Pluto is currently in Capricorn until 2024, encouraging us to look at the results we’ve been getting (or not getting). Are we happy with what we’ve accomplished in the world since 1822 when Pluto last entered Aries? And what are we committed to accomplishing between now and 2068 when Pluto enters Aries again?
  • Neptune takes 165 years to go through the zodiac cycle. I mention this one last of the three because it is the last of the three to change signs as 2012 really kicks in. Neptune recently moved back into Aquarius after briefly visiting Pisces. It goes back into Pisces in February 2012 and will be there until 2026. But for now, Neptune in Aquarius is asking us to look at how are we working together for the collective whole of humanity. Are we working together? Are we collaborating and celebrating each person’s contribution to the greater whole?

When we consider those questions in the context of each of us and all of us having choice in the matter of the course of humanity, we may understand why these questions being asked of us by these planetary influences are so profound.

That is why this retrograde period is so important! This is your chance to look at what you think, what you believe, what you are motivated by, what you are inspired by. In the face of the shift that is occurring for the greater whole, YOU get to assess YOUR place in the greater whole.

  • What do you have to offer to humanity?
  • What do you have to contribute to humanity?
  • What do you stand for as part of humanity and as part of All-That-Is?

This is YOUR chance to discover who you are, where you stand and how you may choose to move through what is to come.

The most important question of these next few months may be…how are you choosing to express your thoughts and beliefs in the world?

There is no right or wrong. There is only what is. Now’s the time for you to get clear about what is for YOU.

Think for yourself. Think for your unique expression of Light. Think for your life, and the lives of all around you.

You have a choice. We each have a choice. We all have choices to make together.

Do we embrace the questions being asked of us and seek the answers to progress and evolve the human race – choosing to go with the flow of life as the only constant in life is change – or do we resist the questions and the answers to them and try to keep humanity in its status quo while the Universe demands change around us?

To awaken to the Light or to remain in the darkness? The choice is ours.

Until next week…
