Venus in Scorpio Trine Neptune Retrograde in Pisces – Dreams and Nightmares

SAMSUNG

Yesterday at 11:32p PDT , Venus in Scorpio made an exact trine aspect to Neptune Retrograde in Pisces.

Venus in Scorpio is pretty intense.  Partnerships are not shallow and are not taken lightly under this influence.  Connections run deep and don’t shy away from the darkness inside ourselves and our secrets and shadows that we hide in it.  For these one-on-one relationships to make the life-altering impressions they can make on us, the individuals involved must allow each other to go down into those darkest depths because that’s the only way they can truly know and trust each other.  After all, that’s ultimately what Scorpio is all about – vulnerability and trust.

Neptune is the ruler of Pisces, so it’s especially at home in this water sign of unconditional love and inspired vision.  This is the sign and planet of the dreamers and romantics, and the selfless servants and martyrs to world causes and religions.  This pair is also known for ignoring red flags and escaping pain with avoidance behaviors or through substances to avoid dealing with things altogether.  The retrograde motion means that this energy is happening on a more introspective or personal level – you are awakening to things from the outside in, assessing what is happening around you.  Therefore, you are witnessing the inspired romanticism that others bring to you and engage in around you, and you have an opportunity to be very attentive to how you respond to it as well as what it may make you aware of about yourself.

That said, when Venus in Scorpio and Neptune Retrograde in Pisces come together in trine aspect, it should be wonderful.  After all, trines are supposed to be good, right?

Yes, trines are considered positive aspects.  However, good in aspect theory doesn’t always mean good in actual practice.  Sometimes there can be too much of a good thing.  Other times, what may be good in the moment may not be so good later on.

For some, making such a profound and passionate emotional-spiritual connection with someone like the ones that are possible under a Venus-Neptune water trine is a dream come true.  This is the stuff of romance novels and “chick flicks”.  The depth and intensity of your connection doesn’t scare you – it excites you!  This could be that take your breath away romance that you’ve searched all your life for.

On the flip side, the depth of any connection made now could become a nightmare because it also gets behind and below any façades that may be in place.  It gets into your deep, dark, and dirty and has the potential to reveal it.  It can bring Light to your shadows, burrow into those holes that you keep your tightly-kept secrets hidden, and uncover your most terrifying demons.  This is the flip side of intimacy – the part that reminds you that part of making a powerfully honest connection with a partner requires letting your guard down and trusting them with not only the most beautiful parts of you but also the least beautiful parts of you.

That said, if you want to connect with someone in a profound and life-altering way, if you’re ready to come clean and let someone know ALL of who you really are – inside and out – this is the time.  After all, this is a trine aspect.  There’s a chance that they’ll still love you afterward.

That said, they may love you in the moment.  But as time goes by, the demons that cannot be overcome could destroy the relationship.  Through this process, you may find that your partner’s demons are too much for you, or you may find that your demons are too much for your partner.

But one thing to note about this aspect is that it is happening under a Virgo Sun – there is an energy of healing and restoration in the air that brings forth a desire to heal, restore, and renew each other in transformative ways during this Venus-Neptune trine.  Therefore, you may find that by revealing yourselves completely to each other, you are able to help each other move through darkness to Light and healing much more quickly and effectively than either of you could alone.

Just remember that things can be very passionate and powerful right now under Venus in Scorpio trine Neptune Retrograde in Pisces.  Use this trine effectively, wisely, and carefully in your partnerships of all kinds.  The effects of this trine aspect can be felt Wednesday September 11, 2013 through Monday, September 16th.

Full Moon in Virgo/Pisces – Reality Check

The Moon went full in Virgo at 1:40a PST on Thursday March 8th.  And with the Full Moon in Virgo, it’s time for the emotional reality of our lives to take center stage.

While the Sun is in Pisces (and especially if you have strong Pisces or water sign influences in your personal chart), you usually don’t allow the practical and tangible reality of our lives to set in until there is an emotional impact.  You may go about your day, sometimes lost in your dreams and/or fantasies, pretending that the circumstances of your life are not really the circumstances of your life…until something very real happens to something or someone that you really and sincerely care about – something or someone that you are emotionally invested in.  Then, when that emotional investment makes itself known, you are brought back down to earth in a very real and humbling way.  In those moments, you are forced to see exactly what it will take to make your dream a reality…or the impact of what you’ve done (or haven’t done) to date in order for that dream to become reality.

This time around, the Sun, Neptune and Chiron are in Pisces, making this round of Sun in Pisces particularly imaginative, airy-fairy and emotionally sensitive.  Therefore, this Full Moon in Virgo is a particularly practical and grounding force.  If there’s anything you’ve had your head in the clouds about over the last few weeks and months, there is probably an aspect of it (or the matter in its entirety) that is smacking you upside the head right now waking you up to its practical reality.

Don’t get me wrong – it is very important to dream and daydream.  It is very important to have a vision of what you want your life to be and where you want it to go.  Those visions and aspirations are key and vital to who you are as a spiritual being in a human being living upon this earth at and in this time.  Yet you also must remember that for your dreams and visions to become the reality of your life, they require actual actions and tangible results to be fulfilled.  These are not actions that you imagine doing – these are actions you actually do.  And not results that you hope to get, but results that you actually produce.  Only the actual and factual will let you know exactly where you are in your journey toward the fulfillment of your dreams and visions.

That said, your dreams and visions are trying to tell you something…and maybe it’s time you listened.  Maybe it’s time you did something about them.  After all, they don’t keep coming up without reason or purpose.

However, through the dreams and visions that keep coming up, you may discover that maybe you aren’t the ideal of who you want to be, or the ideal of who you think you are…and you may be fighting to preserve your self-identity.  You may be resisting the opportunities that keep coming up to make major changes in your life.  Pay attention to the ‘synchronicities’ that come up with your dreams and visions.  Pay attention not only to how they are coming up, but also when they are coming up.  Consider for a moment that everything is connected…and that there is something bigger than all of us trying to get you to see that the time has come for you to shift and evolve the reality of yourself.

Reflect upon and be aware of your dreams and visions, and the reality of your life experience in these Full Moon days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).  Take a moment to appreciate what you discover about yourself and about your connection to everything around you…and what it tells you about you and the reality of your everyday life.

Then, if you don’t like what you see, use your dreams and visions to help you change whatever it is you don’t like.  Take real actions based on their guidance to create a new reality and a new experience of yourself and your role in All-That-Is…

…and ultimately, to begin living your dreams as reality.

Thank you for reading and sharing. Until next post…

The Power of Choice and “The Great Awakening” of 2012

There’s been a lot of speculation about what the year of 2012 will bring. With it being the end of the Mayan calendar, there are people predicting all sorts of doomsday devastation and destruction, and perpetuating all sorts of fear-based thinking in doing so.

It doesn’t have to be chaos and destruction. And even if it is, it doesn’t have to be at the hand of humanity.

What tends to be missed in this equation is the power of choice that we as humans have over what occurs in this time of awakening.

2012 will be a 5 Universal Year numerologically speaking. 5 is an energy of variety and change. It is adaptable and freedom-loving. It doesn’t like routine and avoids the status-quo of pretty much anything. It’s also very strong mental-intellectual energy, and will often act upon its thoughts more than any other numeric energy.

It is my belief that 2012 will bring humanity’s ‘Great Awakening’ – an opportunity for each and all of us to step fully into our unique individual expressions and to express our unique roles in the greater whole in doing so, step into True power rooted in Light and Love. We have an opportunity to see how we have the power to choose the course of our individual lives, and in doing so, how each of us together can choose the course of humanity and the world.

The shift will be primarily in our minds. It is a shift in our thinking, our perceiving, in our consciousness. I have discussed in past blog posts how our thoughts and beliefs influence our actions and behaviors. This is why…

Humanity has choice in the matter of how much of this energy manifests! We DO have say in the matter of this transition!

Even if there are natural occurrences such as floods or earthquakes or massive storms or pole shifts, we will still have say in how we choose to respond to those scenarios. Whether we choose to respond with collaboration and collective compassion, or we choose to steal and hurt each other to take advantage of a challenging situation, WE have say in how it goes.

WE have say in whether or not we choose to act out of our religious beliefs that one group of people must be eliminated or saved.

WE have say in whether or not we choose to act out of our political beliefs that one group of people must be overthrown or  must be brought into power.

WE have say in whether or not we go to war with other countries to fight over territories and natural resources.

WE have say in whether or not we inflict pain or blame or love and forgiveness onto others to express what we ultimately feel inside about ourselves.

It’s easy for many of us to say that it’s other people who think and do this kind of thing. Yet it really is something we each and all get to take ownership for. Even if we may not be doing it directly, we are allowing it by not choosing to stand in our Light and present another option to the world, by not choosing to stand up for something different. By choosing to play victim to the darkness of others, we choose to allow that darkness to have power. By choosing to remain in our darkness and denial, we are not contributing our unique expressions of Light into the world.

In owning and expressing our Light, WE allow ourselves to have say in what humanity and the world is becoming!!!

In owning and expressing your Light, YOU allow yourself to have say in what humanity and the world is becoming!!!

The planetary bodies that are in retrograde right now are mostly “outer planet” influences. The outer planetary bodies have a slower rotation around the Sun, so they tend to be considered as generational, cultural, and global influences with zodiac cycles ranging from 84 to 248 years. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are the three most outwardly placed planetary influences, and they are all retrograde right now along with Chiron and Mercury. But it’s those first three – the big three – that hold a great deal of weight right now.

  • Uranus takes 84 years to complete its journey through the zodiac. Currently, Uranus is in Aries until 2019, encouraging us to look at our individual selves. Who are we each being – who are YOU being – for the whole of humanity? How are your actions affecting others? Do you realize the power you have in who you choose to be and the actions you choose to take?
  • Pluto takes 248 years to move through the full zodiac. Pluto is currently in Capricorn until 2024, encouraging us to look at the results we’ve been getting (or not getting). Are we happy with what we’ve accomplished in the world since 1822 when Pluto last entered Aries? And what are we committed to accomplishing between now and 2068 when Pluto enters Aries again?
  • Neptune takes 165 years to go through the zodiac cycle. I mention this one last of the three because it is the last of the three to change signs as 2012 really kicks in. Neptune recently moved back into Aquarius after briefly visiting Pisces. It goes back into Pisces in February 2012 and will be there until 2026. But for now, Neptune in Aquarius is asking us to look at how are we working together for the collective whole of humanity. Are we working together? Are we collaborating and celebrating each person’s contribution to the greater whole?

When we consider those questions in the context of each of us and all of us having choice in the matter of the course of humanity, we may understand why these questions being asked of us by these planetary influences are so profound.

That is why this retrograde period is so important! This is your chance to look at what you think, what you believe, what you are motivated by, what you are inspired by. In the face of the shift that is occurring for the greater whole, YOU get to assess YOUR place in the greater whole.

  • What do you have to offer to humanity?
  • What do you have to contribute to humanity?
  • What do you stand for as part of humanity and as part of All-That-Is?

This is YOUR chance to discover who you are, where you stand and how you may choose to move through what is to come.

The most important question of these next few months may be…how are you choosing to express your thoughts and beliefs in the world?

There is no right or wrong. There is only what is. Now’s the time for you to get clear about what is for YOU.

Think for yourself. Think for your unique expression of Light. Think for your life, and the lives of all around you.

You have a choice. We each have a choice. We all have choices to make together.

Do we embrace the questions being asked of us and seek the answers to progress and evolve the human race – choosing to go with the flow of life as the only constant in life is change – or do we resist the questions and the answers to them and try to keep humanity in its status quo while the Universe demands change around us?

To awaken to the Light or to remain in the darkness? The choice is ours.

Until next week…

Retrograde Retrospective

Retrogrades call upon us to revisit, review, and sometimes re-do what we thought we were committed to or in some cases, stuck with.  Retrograde periods tend to be rather introspective times in regard to whichever planet is moving in retrograde, though not always.

After denouncing Mercury Retrograde’s effects for the longest time, I’ve had to retract some of my indifference to it since I purchased a car during Mercury Retrograde, and had all sorts of problems with the car out of the gate only to end up having to do the paperwork all over again a month later because the finance guy forgot to call me to get a piece of information they needed to process the car loan.  We actually had to re-do the deal!

And on Friday, I finally left the ‘day job’ I’ve been in for the last 9 months, and starting different ‘day job’ tomorrow.  However, the retrograde element here is that I was supposed to have left a month ago (approximately July 8th) during a direct cycle.  Though I will be starting a new job in a retrograde period (and I’m wondering how that’s going to turn out), I can’t help but chuckle at the idea that it feels like a “do over”.

Those are a couple of my personal examples of the effects of retrograde.

However, for all of us, this is a VERY unique time.

Currently, there are five – that’s right!  Count ‘em! – FIVE planets moving in retrograde right now!  That’s a whole lot of revisiting, reviewing, and re-doing.

–          Mercury started its retrograde on July 28th, currently moving through the sign of Virgo and going back into Leo on the 8th.  This affects our communications and the quality and frequency of the information being communicated.  Mercury will be moving in retrograde until August 26th.

–          Pluto is currently in Capricorn on its planetary backstroke.  This affects our perspectives about life and death, about right and wrong, good and bad.  With Pluto in retrograde, there is a LOT of gray area right now.  Since its retrograde began on April 9th, things have not been as cut and dried as they’ve seemed…or maybe as we may have liked them to be.  The events of this time period are forcing us to stand in that gray area in which neither extreme is a good place to stand. Pluto will be moving in retrograde until September 16th.

–          Neptune just moved back into Aquarius after visiting Pisces briefly.  It’ll be back in its native Pisces in February 2012.  Until then, this affects our visionary spirit and our creative and inspired expression.  Is what we are envisioning really in the best interests of our individual self-expression and our being of service to others?  Does it serve both purposes?  Neptune’s retrograde motion began on June 3rd, and it will continue moving in retrograde until November 9th.

–          Chiron is in retrograde in the sign of Pisces.  This affects our health and wellness, which in turn affects our practical resources (what we need to get by in our everyday lives).  After all, if we aren’t well, we cannot serve ourselves or others well in an everyday or practical way.  This is likely to show up as many of us quietly recognizing how we put our service to others and others’ health and wellness before or in a higher priority than our own.  It is likely that many of us are considering new or different choices regarding these matters right now.  In retrograde since June 8th, Chiron will be moving in retrograde until November 10th.

–          Uranus is currently moving through Aries in retrograde.  This affects mass media/communications and social media.  What actions are we taking to express ourselves to the world?  Do we like what we are getting in response? Are we sharing or promoting ourselves in healthy, productive and unique ways?  Uranus has been moving in retrograde since July 10th, and will continue to do so until December 10th – the last of these five planets to shift out of the retrograde motion.

These planets are essentially asking these questions of us:

–          What information are we communicating, and do we like what we are saying?

–          Where are our boundaries?  Where do we draw the tolerance lines in the important matters of our lives?

–          What gives life and inspiration to our dreams and visions for ourselves and our lives?

–          What heals us?  What has us feel healthy and well and ready to be of service to ourselves and to others?

–          What are we willing to put ourselves out there for?  What are we willing to be known for in a very public and very social way?

The Universe is giving us time to re-think our positions in all of these matters, to be sure that we say we want is what we really want.  It’s an opportunity for all of us to really look at the past and present and ask, “Is this what I want for the future?”  This is happening not only on an individual scale, but on a community, national, cultural, global and transcendent levels as well. It’s affecting each and all of us.

And all of this is occurring during a 3 universal month!  A month in which the energy is about growing and expanding with a child-like enthusiasm.  The choices we make about these matters are likely going to be influenced by the question of what gives us the best opportunity to grow and expand ourselves and our self-expressions in our lives?  What gives us the best opportunity to give expression to our “inner children”?  What gives us the best opportunity to serve others authentically while honoring our unique self-expressions?

This mass retrograde period is our collective retrospective – one of the last major reset opportunities before “the Great Awakening” of 2012.  (We’ll talk a bit more about the Great Awakening in a later post.)

For now, I encourage you to acknowledge these questions being asked of you by the Universe.  See where and how they are showing up in your own life…and answer them for yourself.

And enjoy the week!

What Is Love? – Part One

As of 4:25p PST on Friday, February 18th , we have entered Sun in Pisces. And in doing so, we enter the sign of love…in all its forms.

Yet, what is love?

We hear it exists, and many of us search for it and long for it, yet it seems to elude us.

The best way to begin explaining what love is may be to explain what Pisces is all about.

Pisces is “ruled” by Neptune. Neptune represents imagination, intuition, idealism, inspiration, and romanticism. There is an abundance of creative and visionary energy here as we experience inspired ideas and allow ourselves to imagine or dream, and those ideas and dreams allow us to create and develop ways to have our visions become the reality of our lives. Many artists, performers, or writers have some strong element of Piscean or Neptunian energy present in their astrological charts. Yet, creativity takes many forms. It’s not just arts-oriented. It’s also new ideas, new ways of doing or approaching things, or even new ways of thinking or perceiving things. It’s the process of manifesting something from nothing other than an inspired thought or idea that seems to come from nowhere….and that can be done in anything!

However, Pisces and Neptune also represent illusions and delusions, fantasies, daydreams, impracticality, and naivety. For people who have strong Pisces or Neptune influences in their charts, they may experience a great deal of deception from others or be very deceptive themselves – using their creativity to push the realities of matters aside. Either way, it is usually a by-product of deceiving themselves. The self-deceptions usually come as result of believing so strongly in their own fantastic and romantic ideals that they act as though they are real in an actual and practical sense. They share these ideas with others as if they are tangibly real, only to find out that when they aren’t real or practically tangible, they’ve let a whole lot of people around them down. But most of all, they have let themselves down. It can be a devastating process, but one in which the true meaning of love can be given space to be explored and experienced.

There are some who will face their self-deception and blame themselves to an extreme, taking on a martyrdom complex. There are some who are not willing to own up to their self-deception, and they will likely take on a victim complex declaring that others (if not the whole world) is out to get them, or they shut down, run away, and/or hide to escape the truths and realities they don’t want to face.

Yet in between the two extremes, there is healthy self-responsibility – simply taking responsibility for the deceptions they created, and in that moment, being ready and willing to face the true and practical reality of their lives in a balanced and healthy way. That is when healing can begin and when true romance, true creativity, and true prosperity can abound in our lives. We can share our visions and ideas and creative energies with others for the simple reason that we choose to and we are open to see what can be created not only through giving to others, but allowing ourselves to receive from others as well. In doing so, we create opportunities for all of us to experience the beauty and wonder of life: true love.

A few posts ago, I mentioned that many of us resist the good that comes to us because deep down, we know the rewards don’t belong to us – we didn’t do the work for it. When I say “work”, I mean “sharing”. It’s about actually sharing your creativity with others, making your contribution to the greater whole so that you may feel worthy of receiving and experiencing other’s creative offerings to you. But it requires trust and belief in yourself and in those around you, and it requires a willingness to recognize:

  • what you have to offer to others,
  • what others have to give to you,
  • what you each and all have to give to everyone,
  • and what each and all of you can receive from others if you allow yourself to be open to receive it.

Our creative energy and expression is our love. And the experience of loving is sharing – both giving and receiving. Share your creativity, and feel the love in your life.

I have quite a few personal stories on this topic, as I have Moon in Pisces in my own chart. I’ll share one or two of them with you next week. In the meantime, please comment and let me know what opens up for you! Post a comment here on the blog, or open a discussion on the Facebook page. I really enjoy receiving your feedback. Thank you!

Until next week…
