2015 Libra New Moon – New Intentions & Objectives for Emotional Balance

chalkboard 1 - empty-diagram_fyHM2FcO - graphicstockAlright folks! With all the astrological events happening in the last few months, we’ve been processing A LOT of energy here. I know I’ve been feeling and experiencing all kinds of things. With my personal Sun in Libra, I thought I had a pretty good handle on being a balanced individual. Well, let’s just say the Universe has a great sense of humor…and I’m still waiting for the punchline.

Enough about me.

What about this 2015 Libra New Moon on Monday, October 12 at 5:06p PDT (19.33°)? What kinds of things can we expect?

With this Libra 9 Sun, the Moon will be supporting us in both stating exactly what we need to feel emotionally balanced in our relationships and making sure that balance is put into effect.  Themes around equality, justice, and balance have been magnified lately, and the 2015 Libra New Moon is a way for the Universe to assist us in clarifying some new intentions and objectives. 2015 Mercury in Libra and Mercury Conjunct Black Moon Lilith – A Powerful Cry for Equality, Fairness, & Justice

scale-5-glyph-icon_GJZIUaU_ - graphicstockThis morning at 8:44s PDT, Mercury enters the sign of Libra. Mercury is pretty comfortable in Libra as Libra is an air sign like Mercury’s sign of rulership, Gemini. In fact, with Libra being the cardinal air sign, it is where air energy gets its inspiration and intellectual sense of direction.

Libra is about balance, equality, fairness, justice, and peace. Its Zodiac symbol represents the scales of justice, and the ideal of peace being achieved through diplomacy is its cornerstone. Since this is an air sign, the element affirms these principles and ideals to be the fruits of intellect and information, harvested when people are able to fairly and diplomatically communicate, negotiate, and compromise.

With the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Juno all in Virgo, Mercury in Libra must operate within a strong practical and purpose-driven energy. This energy already has us becoming more present to the realities of our everyday circumstances. We’re starting to pay attention to the amount of work we are putting into activities and projects and whether or not said activities bring us health, happiness, or fulfillment. More of us are seeking clarity of purpose and practice – something to work for and toward; reasons to be of service.

Yet as we perform our work under the influence of the Virgo Sun, Mercury’s move into Libra will shift the focus of our thoughts and communications to include those Libran principles of balance, equality, fairness, and justice. This is where our present events and circumstances will make this 2015 Mercury in Libra experience one for the books – people are beginning to recognize how they may not have all the information they need to make informed or intelligent choices about the everyday matters (systems, processes, routines, responsibilities, etc.) which affect their lives. Questions certain to arise over the next few weeks are: Continue reading

2014 Mercury Direct in Libra and Scorpio – From Peacefully Pretentious to Power-Hungry in A Flash

So Mercury is finally direct.  Everyone can breathe and send e-mails now.  Make those important communications that you’ve been holding back for fear that they might be disrupted or lost if you made them before this week.  Go sign your big contracts, people.

Mercury actually turned back into direct motion in the sign of Libra on Saturday, 25th October.  However, it does take a few days to get back into the swing of things.  The exchange of information may still be a bit shaky until mid-week.  Nevertheless, Mercury is direct in Libra…again.

Libra, the sign of the peace-loving, conflict-avoiding, justice-defending, and equality-seeking, is at the helm of our thoughts, ideas, and communications now through 8th November 2014.  This means that well into our current 2014 Scorpio Sun period, there is likely to be a strong inclination to peaceful and pleasant diplomatic efforts.  We are inclined to speak nicely, even if we’d rather say things that aren’t so nice; act quickly to make ourselves look more kind and objective than we really are; and think positive thoughts in the hopes that it will help what comes out of our minds and mouths pass any tests of truth and authenticity that they may be subject to.

However, we are under the influence of a Scorpio Sun, a Scorpio Venus, and a Scorpio Saturn, all which add a bit of edge to these “peaceful” communications.  What once was delivered with a smile is now being delivered with a caustic and cautious tone.  Once Mercury Direct re-enters Scorpio on the 8th of November, all bets for kinder and gentler diplomacy are off.  Thoughts and words and perspectives may become very extreme and intense very quickly.  The claws that were hidden behind the soft and pretty masks of peacekeeping are likely to come out to do some fighting in order to force things to go their way and eliminate any opponents.  If it didn’t get balanced during the Libra Sun period, and if it didn’t get balanced during this last chance of Mercury in Libra in 2014, we may find that the only course of diplomacy left is simply to let the fur fly. 2014 Mercury in Libra – Diplomacy At Its Finest…Or At Its Worst?

Mercury enters Libra at 10:38p PDT on Monday, the 1st of September, 2014.  As the ruler of Gemini, Mercury represents learning and intellect, quick thinking, expedient communication of the ideas and thoughts behind the words we choose and use.  It is also known to accelerate anything it is part of.

In the sign of Libra, Mercury is comfortable in another air element sign as logic and reason are the modus operandi here – Mercury in Libra will apply this M.O. objectively, or at least it would in ideal circumstances as Libra is the great diplomat of the Zodiac.  Often represented by an image of the scales of justice, Libra’s goal is to balance said scales by seeking and finding the most fair and just resolutions of imbalances in order to restore a sense of balance and/or equality and peace.  This is often done through intellectual exchanges (a.k.a. – communication).  Diplomacy at its finest… Continue reading

Mercury and Saturn in Scorpio – The Rollercoaster of Transformation

Please secure your safety harness – make sure you have pulled it all the way down until you hear the click.  Please make sure your hands stay inside the car at all times…

Yes, the rollercoaster ride is about to begin.

If you felt like you’ve already been on one for the last few weeks…well…those were the kiddie rides.  Mercury and Saturn conjunct exactly in Libra early tomorrow morning (Friday, October 5th at 2:44a PDT), giving you a chance to catch your breath and be present to where you are and where matters in your life stand right now, especially in regard to your relationships and partnerships of any and all kinds.  Things should be pretty clear now, and you likely see how everything that has been happening is coming together or has come together to this point.  Get a good look…

…because Mercury and Saturn will then move separately (but still very closely) into Scorpio within 10 hours of each other (Mercury at 3:35a, Saturn at 1:34p PDT). As they move into Scorpio, be ready for some major changes.  This is bound to be a notable beginning for quite a transformational ride.

The word transformation gets tossed around a lot these days, so let me clarify something about it.  Transformation is not just change – it’s more like a death of what you know to be and its rebirth as something completely different.  Some things in your life are about to become, in some ways, completely unrecognizable to you.

Under Mercury in Scorpio’s influence, our ideas, thoughts, and communications have the opportunity to undergo a complete metamorphosis.  Mercury thinks fast and talks fast.  In Scorpio, it does both with an all-or-nothing mindset and with intense emotional energy as the basis for all that is thought and communicated.  Scorpio deals in polarities and extremes.  There’s no gray area here, only black-or-white.  So with Mercury in Scorpio, there’s likely to be some extreme decision-making in the next few weeks, and you’ll probably want to or be pushed to make those decisions quickly and furiously with powerful intention and emotional intensity.

But before you get all worried about what emotionally impulsive decisions you may be about to make, remember that Saturn is also moving into Scorpio.  Saturn is disciplined and very cautious.  In Scorpio, it will be very aware of each side of the polarity, but it’s probably going to be very hesitant to jump into one extreme or the other along with Mercury.  In fact, Saturn may curb Mercury’s enthusiasm…or at least give it some much-needed pause for consideration of the choices at hand.

However, don’t mistake Saturn’s caution for restriction or oppression in this placement.  Though Mercury’s impulses may be delayed by Saturn’s firm hand of discipline, once your choices are made they will be explicitly clear and powerfully firm.  Your mind will be made up, and there won’t be any looking back.

This is because Saturn in Scorpio will be in “mutual reception” with Pluto in Capricorn.  Saturn is the natural ruler of Capricorn, while Pluto is the natural ruler of Scorpio, so the planets are essentially traveling in each other’s signs.  This is an especially strong and influential bond of placement because this means that the decisions that are made will be very transformative, and the transformations will create new structures for your life and have very long-term effects.

If you are making choices in alignment with your goals and ambitions (especially profession and career decisions), you may find that things happen to move them forward with remarkable speed and ease.  Your choices are also likely to have a remarkable stability and structure to them and feel very solid and binding…and they probably will be.

If you are making choices that are not in alignment with your goals and ambitions, you may find that you experience significant delays and/or setbacks.  Your choices to move forward will seem blocked, deterred, or outright  denied.  Consider that these obstacles may be occurring to give you a chance to change course before you’re locked into a frustrating or unsatisfying path.

Those plans I’ve been telling you about over the last few months?  Now is when you get to start implementing those plans by clearing out the old to make way for the new.  And this clearing isn’t just thinking or talking – it’s doing.  This is the beginning of the phase you’ve been planning for.  And once you start the demolition process, there’s no going back.

Under Saturn in Scorpio’s influence, our authority figures, structures and infrastructures of all kinds (especially career and businesses), and control mechanisms (personal and professional, individually and collectively) are all about to transform profoundly.  What we’ve known will gradually be cleared away for something very new and very different to come into their places.

Mars will also be in Scorpio for about 37 hours after Mercury and Scorpio enter the sign.  This should make Friday and most of Saturday very interesting days as the general initiative to action will also be pretty intense and powerful and lend itself to extremes.  Then Mars moves into Sagittarius at 8:21p PDT on Saturday the 6th, acting upon and learning from the experiences and adventures your choices bring forth (more about that in the next post).

Mercury will be in Scorpio until October 28th.  It will then move into Sagittarius briefly, but then goes retrograde from November 6th through November 26th, dipping its toes back into Scorpio from November 13th until December 10th.

Saturn will remain in Scorpio until December 23, 2014.

Look to where Scorpio is placed in your personal astrology chart(s) for where you are likely to see the most transformation over these next few weeks and over the next couple of years.  For a chart interpretation and more insights on how this cycle of evolution will affect you and your life, click here to schedule an appointment with me.  I’ll be happy to show you through.

So as the moment approaches, remember to secure your harness and watch your hands…and do your best to enjoy the ride.

Thanks for reading and sharing.  Until next post…

Pluto in Capricorn Direct – From Caterpillar to Butterfly, Ready or Not

It seems many of us may have grossly underestimated the power of Pluto in Capricorn going into direct motion on Monday, September 17th after being retrograde since April 10th this year.

Since Monday, I have seen, heard of, and/or experienced more career and employer upheavals, and I’ve heard of, read about, or experienced people (including myself!) finding more clarity around their career and job situations than I have in a very long time.  And these are some seriously major changes, not just a few little occurrences or minor declarations.

Pluto is definitely doing its thing.

But some of you may be asking, “What is Pluto’s thing, exactly?”

Well, the planet (or the recently re-defined planetoid) Pluto represents exactly what is happening right now – transformation.  And when I use the word ‘transformation’, I don’t mean little shifts or changes.  It’s more like the kind of change that happens when a caterpillar becomes a butterfly – it’s not even the same entity after its time in that cocoon!

Any planet in retrograde has us experience that energy inwardly.  With Pluto in Capricorn in retrograde, that means that since April 2012, we’ve been urged to go within ourselves to assess which major changes we want to make in ourselves and our lives – changes that are specific to our individual goals and ambitions in certain areas of our lives.  Think of this going within as the caterpillar being in the cocoon.

When a planet shifts into direct motion, those changes begin to manifest outwardly.  It’s a sort of “be careful what you wish for as you might just get it” experience, and it is proving to be just that with this Pluto in Capricorn going into direct motion.  Think of this as the butterfly emerging from its cocoon.

The major changes occurring right now are not lightweight in nature.  They also aren’t necessarily negative, even though they may seem like it for some of us in this moment.  Yet I urge you to recognize that what is happening is that we are each and all being called to step into our butterfly wings and embrace what we each and all have the capacity to become.

In my monthly e-zines and weekly blog posts, I’ve been sharing with you all about how these last few months have been a time of assessment and planning.  It has been an opportunity for you to look at you life and the different elements and relationships you have within it, giving you a chance to set a new course for yourself and your life.

For those of you who have heeded the advice and seized the moment, these major events are probably not throwing you off-kilter.  Pluto’s shift into direct motion is very much like that caterpillar coming out of its cocoon for you.  All of a sudden, you have antennae and wings and stuff!  You can perceive and receive things that you didn’t or wouldn’t before, and most of all, you can ‘fly’ to cover a whole lot more ground in much shorter time!  Things may be happening much faster than expected.  Though this may be a bit overwhelming, this may also bring pleasant surprises for you on a personal level that you’re likely able to take in stride.  It may seem that your goals and ambitions suddenly don’t seem so far away, and in some cases, they may even have already manifested for you in your tangible or experiential reality!

However, some of you may have ignored, avoided, or offhandedly dismissed these opportunities to plot a new course for yourselves and your lives.  If you fall into this group, this Pluto direct may seem devastating for you.  Yet it’s not something that cannot be overcome – it only requires you to do a bit (or in some cases, a lot) of catching up.

Today, September 20th, the transiting Pluto is in tight aspect range with three other planetary bodies – Mercury, Chiron, and Uranus – all at 6° in their various signs .

  • Mercury is ideas and thoughts and the communications of them (direct motion in Libra).
  • Chiron is where we are most wounded, yet because of those wounds, it is where we are best at healing others (currently retrograde – in Pisces – since mid-June 2012 until mid-November 2012 ).
  • Uranus is unconventional ideas, innovations, mass communications, technology, publicity, group participations and associations (also retrograde – in Aries – since mid-July 2012 until mid-December 2012).

Put these energies together, and it gives you an idea of what is going on – the communication of major transformative ideas which make us aware of what needs to be healed in our individual lives if we are to adapt to the technology changes that are affecting humanity-at-large.

Where these transiting planetary bodies fall in your individual chart will reveal a great deal about how these energies are affecting you specifically.  For more information about this, feel free to contact me for a numeric astrology session and I’ll be happy to assist you in realizing your antennae and your butterfly wings to successfully navigate these transformations occurring in your life.

Thanks for reading and sharing.  Until next post…

Mercury in Libra – Answering “The Call”

Okay.  I admit it – I almost forgot something big.  It even happened the same day I posted the last two posts!

Mercury entered Libra on Sunday, September 16th at 4:22p PDT, and it’s a very important influence for the next few weeks!

First of all, this is one of the fastest trips (if not the fastest) that Mercury will take through a sign this year.  Its 2012 journey through Libra will take all of about 20 days, moving into Scorpio on October 5th.   But don’t let the short time frame fool you – this 2012 Mercury in Libra cycle is bound to pack a punch.

Under Mercury in Libra’s influence, there will be a lot of ideas, thoughts, and conversations about your relationships and partnerships in the next three weeks.  In those conversations, what is likely to be communicated is your choices about whether which relationships are staying or going in your life.  They aren’t likely to be easy talks to have in the moments.  In fact, they may be down right ugly at times.  Yet the choices you are making and acting upon – if you’re truly following your heart’s desires and honoring the plans you’ve set in motion as you are making them – will prove very positive for you and your life in the long run.

If you are not making these relationship and partnership choices in your best interests, be aware that things may occur in your life and around you in order to help you correct your course.  Of course, these occurrences will be outside your control for the most part – you’ll be in more of a response or reaction position than an action or instigation one.  This may be difficult for you if you like to (try to) control matters.  However, if you find these challenges occurring for you, it’s likely because you missed “the call” while trying to “call the shots”.

What is “the call”, exactly?

“The call” over these last few months has been to discover, align with, and honor your inner truth –  in every way and in every aspect of your life – in order to shine your unique expression of Light fully out into the world.  Even if you’re not shining it yet, each of us has been encouraged to create a plan to implement a solid and stable support structure for yourself in order for you to feel and be strong and confident in putting yourself out there as who you truly are in and for the world and its beings.

The reason Mercury in Libra is so important right now is because it is like calling ‘your troops’ (the people important to you in your life) into a battle of sorts – a battle for your life, and in some ways, their lives.  You’ll need to know who’s really going to be there for you to encourage you, to back you up, to lift you up, to help you shine, to celebrate your successes big and small, and to love you whether you succeed or not as you move forward in your life’s journey to fulfill “your calling”.  You’ll also need to communicate to these people just how much you value them for who they are and how much you value their presence in your life and how you intend to be for them what they are for you to the best of your ability.

This Mercury in Libra cycle is unusually powerful as it begins with Saturn already in Libra (though late in the sign at 28°) and the Moon also in Libra (though only briefly – until early on Tuesday, September 18, 2012).  Then the Sun enters Libra on Saturday the 22nd , shining the Light of Truth onto your relationships and partnerships of all kinds.  If it’s not already clear to you what you need to say or do in some of the relationships in your life, you’ll figure it out for sure as September plays out.

This 2012 Libra cycle is meant to create some seriously strong foundation and structure for you.  What you are doing in and for your life now really will play a huge role as you move forward into your future.  Even though you may never know completely what the future holds as we each and all have free will to a large degree, rest assured that Mercury in Libra is the beginning of clarifying and communicating  the foundation you are creating for whatever may come.

NOW is the time to get clear about the relationships you have in your life – to choose who you want to choose, to say what you need to say, to do what you need to do.

And with that said, if you ever wanted to know the perfect time to say what you’ve always wanted to say to someone but never said…well…these next three weeks would be that time.  Don’t miss “the call”. Answer it instead.

Thanks for reading and sharing.  Until next post…

Venus in Leo – See Who They Really Are (For You)

Venus entered Leo on Thursday, September 6th at 7:48a PDT.  In doing so, it shifts the focus of our relationships and partnerships away from nurturing and caring protection, and brings our relationships out into the Light for us (and in some cases, for all) to see them for what they really are and what they are really all about.

Venus in Leo is a time when we discover who and what really matters to us in our lives.  This occurs as we recognize the individuals we choose (or want to choose) to share our Light and/or our spotlight with.  In doing so, we also become more aware of who is willing to share their Light with us.  In allowing our partnerships and relationships with important individuals to be seen or known by us and others, we are learning and affirming more about who we truly are by acknowledging who helps and/or influences us in being who we are in and for ourselves and the world.

This Venus in Leo placement also brings forth opportunities for you to affirm or confirm that “This person is important to me” or “This person is a partner or companion to me in some way”.  These are not necessarily declarations of romantic love, for not all partners are romantic or sexual partners.  However, it is a time for verification of the role(s) certain individuals may have in your life.

I use the word “verification” because this Venus in Leo placement begins while the Sun and Mercury are both in Virgo and while Mars is in Scorpio.  This is important to note because it implies that you are still in a plan implementation phase.  You are getting your life in order in some way(s), setting changes in motion to bring your life (or a specific area of your life) into efficiency, effectiveness, and organization.

As you are getting your life in order, it is important to get clear about who you want with you as you continue your life journey…and equally important for you to figure out whom or what you need to let go of in order to manifest what you are planning.  You get to discover or ‘verify’ the status and/or purposes of the relationships you have with others.  There are choices to be made, and you’ll become more aware of the decisions you want or need to make as each of your relationships comes into your Light in some way.

Some questions and suggestions which may prove helpful (and possibly challenging yet productive) to you during this assessment period:

  • Who do you spend the most time with?  Does this person or do these people reflect who you are or want to become for yourself and/or for the world?  Do they lift you up or bring you down?
  • Do the people around you and/or spend time with make you feel good about yourself?  How? Why?  And if you don’t feel good about yourself with or around them, how or why does this occur?
  • Do your partners and companions boost your confidence or your ego?  If so, how do they do this for you or why do they do this for you?  Are they doing it genuinely (which truly feels good) or are they pretending to like you (which may feel off or not as good as it could)?
  • Who hides you from others?  Why do they hide you?  Ask them why before making choices about them.  How you feel as they tell you and your response to what they say may help you get clear about who they are (or aren’t) for you.
  • Who do you hide from others?  Why do you hide them?  Tell them why before making choices about them.  How you feel as you tell them and their response to what you say may help you get clear about who they are (or aren’t) for you.

The communications you have with people during this time serve a purpose – clarifying who is truly supportive of who you truly are and genuinely serves a productive purpose or role in helping you manifest your self-expression in and for the world.

Mercury enters Libra – the sign ruled by Venus – on September 16th, and when it does, that will likely be the time that you begin to communicate your choices outwardly to others.  You’ll be able to say “This person is important and/or essential to me and who I am becoming” or “This person is a partner or companion to me in some way”.  These are not necessarily declarations of romantic love, for not all partners are romantic or sexual partners.  However, it is likely to be a time of outward affirmation of the role(s) certain individuals may have in your life.

You may also find that you need to tell certain people that they no longer have a role in your life, or you may simply phase them out of your life by no longer being in communication with them.  These choices will likely become more clear with Pluto going into direct motion on September 17th – you’ll have a better idea of who and what stays or goes after Pluto begins to outwardly reveal your inner transformation and commitment to your goals and ambitions.  As you see the changes starting to manifest around you, you may also see more clearly what needs to change for you.

September 2012 is definitely a month of intention and changes to align yourself with your chosen intentions.  Embrace the opportunities available to you now to make the choices and changes you need to make in your relationships.  These challenging questions are being presented to you now for you to answer now or very soon.  Use the answers you find to help you choose and establish the support structure you’ll need to succeed in the accomplishing of your long-term goals and ambitions.

Make the most of this energy available to you.  It may be difficult in the moment, but facing the challenges now will likely make the road ahead much easier to navigate.

Until next post…
