The Life By Soul “Weekly Forecast” – 11-17 May 2015

It’s a big week. Let’s get to it!

The light of the Taurus Sun reveals your emotional-spiritual wounds through its sextile with Chiron in Pisces at 10:43a PDT on Monday 11th May. These revelations occur as you become tangibly present to your current your lifestyle and the state of your resources that enable it. What you learn at this time may help you understand how your emotional-spiritual wounds are driving your lifestyle choices, and how healing those wounds may be what is needed for you to move beyond familiar pain in order to transform your life for the better. The 11th is a 6 numerological day, so you are likely to become more present to what you really need in order for your everyday life to function the way you want it to. Keep in mind – it may be emotional, not physical.

About 9 hours later, Mars enters Gemini at 7:40p PDT on Monday 11th May, and this is likely to add a sense of urgency to your actions. Of course, it may also add some intellectual clarity to your progress as well…if you’re willing to pay attention to the messages that are coming to you. This is especially the case once Mercury in Gemini goes into retrograde motion on 18th May until 11th June – you’ll be getting a great deal of feedback from the people and events around you in regard to your actions…as long as you’re willing to open you mind, eyes, and ears to truly receive that feedback. The 1st of August 2014 – Taking Center Stage (a.k.a. – Water Grand Trine #2, Mars-Jupiter Square, and More)!)

On this first day of August 2014, the second Water Grand Trine within 12 days (Venus in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, Chiron Retrograde in Pisces) is at its most exact (16-17°) in the morning hours, bringing forth very emotionally-charged diplomatic efforts.  In various conflicts and debates in different situations around the world and in both private and public matters, there will be allies and advocates sought and partnerships formed in order to protect and defend emotional interests.  Don’t let the usual “positive” nature of trine energy fool you – this is bound to be a very severe and transformative energy presence, felt from the 29th of July through the 3rd of August.  Though there is a serious intention to resolve and heal long-held past wounds, the emotional charge may be too much to overcome.

But believe it or not, this day is not all about the Grand Trine! Continue reading

24th July 2014 – A Busy Day in The Big Picture (including Water Grand Trine #1)

Today, the 24th of July 2014, is an 11 numerological day.  11 energy is the energy of community and collective.  It is recognizing the unique contributions of each individual within the collective whole, knowing that each person brings something only they can bring to the big picture of humanity.  Without their contribution – without their expression of their individual Light – the picture is not complete.

This day is a call for each and all of us to find the Leo Sun within us and allow ourselves to shine our brightest to the benefit of something bigger than any of us could do alone.  We are being asked to recognize the contributions that our fellow humans make, but maybe more important, the contributions we have to offer to the world community that no one else can.  Some of us will feel empowered to allow ourselves to be known fully today.  Others of us may feel overwhelmed when we realize who we are and exactly what we are capable of.

That said, there is so much happening astrologically on this 11 numerological day that may assist us in fully stepping into the expressions of our brightest and boldest individual selves that it may be best to simply give you a rundown transit by transit. Continue reading

Venus Enters Cancer – July 2014 – Protect At All Costs

Venus entered the sign of Cancer at 7:06a PDT today, 18th July 2014.  In some ways, it couldn’t have come at a better time. In other ways, it couldn’t have come at a worse one.

It’s often overlooked that Venus is the ruler of Libra – an air sign.  Think of it like a quintessential multi-tasker in the sense that it needs to be very objective in order to get things done.  It isn’t that it doesn’t care.  It’s that it needs to be somewhat emotionally detached to be able to do it and move on to next point of business to be of support to its partner(s).

In the sign of Cancer, Venus becomes a very emotionally supportive partner.  Cancer is the maternal energy of the Zodiac, so Venus’ expression is softened and more sensitive here.  Under its influence, there is an increased desire to nurture and protect the people and things that are emotionally important to you.

This Venus in Cancer energy dynamic could be equated to a mother defending and protecting her children.  A mother’s logic is to defend and protect her family at all costs.  Therefore, anyone or anything that you consider to be home and/or family will be something you may find yourself going to great lengths to safeguard.

Considering the energetic climate right now, there is a great deal to protect and defend from.  This is where the presence of Venus in Cancer could be both good and bad.  If objectivity could rule the day, this could be good.  But if the emotions rule the day (which is more likely), this could be a rough few weeks. Venus in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn – Big Changes Coming (in Your Relationships, too!)

It’s this interesting social phenomenon – a few people have a knack for awareness of systematic change.  They see and/or understand what is shifting before others and try to tell those others, “Hey, there’s a big change coming!”, only to have most of the people say “Yeah, yeah, yeah.  Whatever”, or “So?  That has nothing to do with me”…

…until it does.

When it starts to affect their lives directly, then most people find themselves having to deal with the change they heard was coming.  What was happening to others finally hits home, and they can’t run away or hide from it any longer.

This Venus-Pluto opposition is one of those times when it all hits home.

Last week, there was the Mercury-Pluto opposition, in which I mentioned that you have the power to create your life in alignment with what you need.

Now, as Venus in Cancer moves in opposition to this powerfully transformative Pluto in Capricorn (exact at 3:05p PDT on Tuesday, June 11th), we find that our one-on-one relationships of all kinds are now being subjected to the cleansing power of Pluto.

Let’s keep in mind – Pluto in Capricorn is clearing out our old collective standards of status and success.  The societal and cultural benchmarks many of us have been striving for and determined to uphold – they are collapsing and are no longer credible.  The goalposts are moving.

The challenge with this change in standards is that many of us are scared because we no longer know what we are working so hard for or what we are striving for.  We are looking to others to figure out who we are and where we stand in the big picture of this world, and we’re realizing that the people we are looking to don’t have the answers, either.

This is because we aren’t meant to be looking to others to have them define us for us – this is no longer the way we get to do things!  We now get to look to others to help us recognize who we are for ourselves.  That old saying “the five people you spend the most time with reveal who you are”?  Yeah.  That.  We are all living that right now, and some of us are realizing that we aren’t sure we like what we see.

I often note that it is relationships of all kinds being affected because there is an unfortunate tendency for people to hear the word “relationship” or “partnership” and think that it’s exclusive to romantic partnerships.  It’s important to understand that the entirety of your life is built upon your one-on-one connections – the relationships you have with your father, mother, brother, sister – they are as much affected as the connections you have with your boss, your admin assistant, your dry cleaner, or the server at the deli counter.  Anyone you see on a regular basis is a relationship in your life, and how you choose to interact with each of them reflects who you are.

That said, under the influence of this 2013 Venus-Pluto opposition transit, your relationships are being tested.  Which of your relationships and partnerships are strong enough to withstand these large-scale changes that are happening under Pluto in Capricorn?  Which ones reflect and/or support your new or clarified standards of success and achievement?

As you have begun testing out the idea that “you’ve had the power all along”, what do you notice about your relationships and partnerships during this Venus-Pluto opposition?

  • Do they empower you or dis-empower you?
  • Is your self-confidence and self-responsibility being strengthened or weakened?
  • Is your inner Truth being supported and nurtured, or compromised or abandoned?
  • Do you like yourself when you are with this person/these people?  Do you like who you are when you are around them?

The changes happening in our relationships during this Venus in Cancer – Pluto in Capricorn opposition are major.  They need to be major because major changes are happening around us.  The only constant in life is change, so let your relationships change so that you can change and step into your power to become all you are meant to be in this lifetime.

Venus Enters Cancer – June 2013 – Protecting Your Interests

At 7:13p PDT this evening, Sunday, June 2nd, 2013, Venus entered Cancer, moving the focus in our partnerships and one-on-one relationships of all kinds from a focus on communication to focus on nurturing and protecting.

If the lines of communication were indeed open and active in your partnerships during Venus in Gemini, then there may be wonderful clarity within your relationships.  Each person involved will feel that they know where they stand, or at least have a sense of clarity within themselves that they know where the partnership stands.  You may have even created a new phase of your relationship.  However, if the lines of communication were not open or well-used before now, this Venus in Cancer phase could be a very interesting few weeks.

Cancer is what I like to call “the mommy sign” – it is a strong maternal energy.  Even in men with a prominent Cancer sign influence in their charts, there is a caring, nurturing, and especially protective quality that is expressed.  When things are going well, Cancer has no problem playing the soft, caring parent.  But when things are challenging or threatening, Cancer will withdraw into its shell and bring anyone it cares about into its shell with it.  It is determined to protect what it loves and cares about, and will do so fervently.  Like its emblem “the crab”, Cancer will pinch its threats with its large pincher claws if necessary, and is happy to draw blood if that’s what it takes to protect its relational interests.

Yet if those interests were not made clear while Venus traveled through Gemini, it may be difficult for you during Venus in Cancer to know exactly what it is that you’re protecting or why you are even protecting it.  After all, when you aren’t clear about where your partnership stands, it’s tough to know what you’re supposed to be taking care of within it.

Fortunately, the Sun, Mars and Jupiter are still in Gemini so they may be able to help you do some retroactive clarification work on behalf of your relationships and partnerships.  But whether your communication work was done or not, The Universe continues shifting our focus to Venus in Cancer, and you now get to acknowledge your various relationships and their states of clarity by how much you do or don’t nurture them.

Cancer, in the natural order of the Zodiac, is the first water element sign.  Therefore, it is responsible for laying the emotional foundation for your relationships of all kinds.  For those of you who are clear about where you stand, you are in a wonderful position to advance your relationship(s) in ways that develop emotional connection and intimacy.

This is also why Cancer is associated with the mother, family in its entirety, and home as these are usually a child’s first emotional connections.  It is why when looking at your relationship patterns, you are often guided to look at your family and home dynamics and environments as a starting point.  You look here because this is where your emotional roots were established.  They are also often the reason why your emotional beliefs and behaviors continue.

Keeping that in mind, Venus in Cancer is an opportunity for you to do a few things:

  • Look at how your relationships with your mother, your family, and your home environment affect you in relationships.  What beliefs or thought patterns do you see are directly correlated with your upbringing and./or with your family and home dynamics now?
  • Look at how your non-family relationships or partnerships of all kinds affect your relationships with your family, your home, and/or specifically, your mother.  Do you keep clear boundaries drawn, or do you bring everyone you connect with at all “into the family”?
  • Look at who you are attracted to and how or why you are attracted to them.  Do you find yourself consistently attracted to women who remind you of your mother or an important maternal or feminine role model in your life, or do you purposely seek women who are absolutely nothing like her?
  • Look at how you may be like your mother or female role model in your relationships, or how you may consider her in assessing your partners.  Do you act like her and say or do things she would do?  Do you consider what her opinion would probably be based on your experiences with her, and do you look at your own partners through what you believe to be “your mother’s filter”?

These are important things to consider for no other reason than to help you recognize how your upbringing may have influenced who you choose to care for, love, and protect and how or why you protect them.  Venus in Cancer encourages you to give attention to how your emotional past may be making a huge impact on your partnerships of all kinds now – both personal and in business!

If you find that you have a challenging relationship pattern or patterns, start seeking ways you may be able to find assistance in releasing those old beliefs and patterns that may no longer serve you well.  Allow yourself to be vulnerable in working with others to find way to release relationship beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve you.

You may also want to refer to your own astrology chart.  By having a complete chart reading done, you may re-discover your own unique way of choosing partners and how you care for them, love them, and protect them – ways that are not the result of your family and home environment, but ways that are unique and specific to you alone.

And if your relationships are going smoothly and communication is open and flowing between the two of you now, this 2013 Venus in Cancer phase may prove rewarding in ways you could only dream of as you begin to tend to what you have created through clarity of your thoughts and words.  There may be a couple of rough transits during this next few weeks (square to Uranus and opposition to Pluto), but they will only serve to make your connections stronger.

Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers.  Until next post…

Venus in Cancer – Watering Your Relationships

Venus moves out of the “perpetual student” energy of Gemini and into the “nurturing mother” energy of Cancer at 6:43a PDT on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012.

Venus is the planetary representative of one-on-one relationships of all kinds.  It is the ambassador of partnership, which is why it is also usually associated with the ideals of love and beauty.  However, Venus is considered the ruler of Libra – an air sign.  Air is mental energy – intellect, detachment, objectivity.  It is an important distinction to make as beauty and love are often in the eye of the beholder.  Therefore, love is often what we make it, and what we make it is often what we think it should be rather than how it may actually show up or what it actually is.

Sometimes, our perceptions of love and beauty aren’t really even our own, but rather are someone else’s ideals of love and beauty that we have adopted as our own. It is very important for us to get in touch with what is real and True for us as individuals so we can find our true partners in all areas of our lives.  In knowing what genuinely resonates as lovely and beautiful to us as individuals, we can then seek out the company of others with truly like minds and hearts.

When we remind ourselves that love is objective and unconditional, then we can embrace our relationships for what they are, and we can embrace the people we are in relationship with for who they are instead of trying to change them or make them into something they are not.  It is when we accept others as they are that we are open to the Truth and actuality of Love, we are open to beauty in all its forms, and we allow ourselves to receive and embrace the expressions of love and beauty which come into our lives.

That said, with Venus entering the sign of Cancer, we revisit Cancer’s nurturing, caring and protective energy.  With Venus in this sign, we may find ourselves being called upon to nurture and protect the relationships and partnerships that are important to us and which bring a healthy and balanced exchange of love and beauty into our lives.

Venus in Cancer is much like caring for plants.

If you don’t water a plant, it dies.  If you over-water a plant, it dies.  So it is important to water the plant, yet also important not to water it too much.

Water is often associated with emotional energy in the Zodiac and Tarot.  Therefore, if we think of the water in the plant analogy as the emotions in our relationships:

  • If we nurture and care for our relationships – if we give them just enough of the emotional attention (“water”) they need – then they can thrive.
  • However, if we don’t give them enough emotional attention we may find that those relationships dry up and disappear from our lives, or sometimes, if we give them too much emotional attention, we can overwhelm them with so much care or protection that it’s too much and they feel the need to escape from our lives.

In this Leo 4 period, the energy is such where we are being called upon to establish and/or define the foundations or structures that support us in shining our unique expressions of Light into the world.  When we bring Venus in Cancer in to that mix, it is important for us to notice the relationships that we are “watering” in our lives.

  • Which ones do we say are important to us, yet we don’t nurture and protect?
  • Which ones do we say are not important to us, yet we find ourselves giving plenty of emotional attention to?
  • Which ones do we find ourselves nurturing and protecting even though they may be non-supportive, detrimental or destructive to our unique expression?
  • And which ones do we find we are trying to kill off even though they may be encouraging and supporting us to shine our individual Light brightly out into the world?

Recognize the roles that others are playing for you in your life.  Distinguish if they are a positive, healthy and genuinely supportive influence in your life, or if they are a negative or unhealthy influence for you, detracting from what you are committed to creating in your life.

Also notice if you have any resistance to people who want to support, nurture, and/or protect you and your expression of your True self out into the world.  If you are resisting, ask yourself why.

  • What are your fears or aversions to receiving this support from others?
  • What are you afraid of giving up or letting go of in your life in order to receive the support you really need to grow and succeed in your expression of your unique and individual self?
  • Is what you say you are committed to creating really in alignment with who you truly are, or are you resisting because you are adopting someone else’s ideals of love and beauty as your own and deep down you know it is not true to who you are or want to be?

There is a lot to consider as you move forward through the remainder of this Venus in Cancer cycle which continues through September 6th.   It’s a quick trip through a very important period of 2012.  I hope awareness of the energy available to you helps you make the most of this precious opportunity to establish a solid support structure for the next steps of your life’s journey.

Water the “plants” that are important to you.  Help them grow…and know that you’re helping yourself grow in the process.

Until next post…
